I am a firm believer that grace and truth in a safe environment can bring healing and freedom for the smallest and greatest needs. It brings me joy to walk beside individuals facing unexpected life stressors or learning for the first time how to deal with past experiences that have left deep wounds. I specialize in the treatment of trauma as an EMDR-trained therapist.
My goal is to adjust counseling services to meet your needs, so don’t hesitate to share any questions or concerns. I am committed to listening to your story, helping you set goals to meet your maximum potential, creating a safe place for healing and processing to occur, and walking beside you compassionately every step of the way. It is never too late and you are never too old, so I hope you'll take the leap with me! When I’m not teaching or counseling, I’m probably enjoying time with my husband and two little girls. I am also passionate about building mental health awareness and advocating for the needs of minority populations, like my own and I often partner with local churches and organizations in DFW to serve people who have struggled in silence for too long. Please contact me if you are interested in training or consultation opportunities! |
After twenty years in corporate America, I am excited to pursue my true calling, helping others through life as a therapist. I recognize that making the choice to seek counseling can be a difficult first step. My goal is to provide a safe and welcoming environment by coming alongside my clients and meeting them where they are.
My mission is for each client to feel heard and to build a therapeutic relationship that fosters trust, growth, and lasting change. I recognize that the issues clients face can extend far deeper than the stresses of everyday life, so I will ask questions to explore my client’s culture, social experiences, and what informs one’s worldview. With a greater understanding of how my clients see themselves and those around them, we can begin to identify and implement ways to improve all aspects of their life. Background Leslie holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Concordia University in Illinois and a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Colorado Christian University in Colorado. Her formal education and 20 years of professional experience have prepared her to counsel adults individually and in a group settings. Leslie is CAMS (collaborative assessment and management of suicidality) trained and an active member of the Texas Counseling Association and the Houston Group Psychotherapy Society |
