Who Is Your Counselor?
My name is Nancy Thomas, and I work at The Vale Counseling Center in Sunnyvale, TX and at Counseling Center of North Texas in Wylie, TX. I am currently pursuing my PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision at Texas A&M - Commerce. I graduated with my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Texas at Dallas, and with my Master of Arts in Biblical Counseling from Dallas Theological Seminary. I have previously worked as a Counseling Intern at Dallas LIFE Homeless Shelter.
My goal is to adjust counseling services to meet the clients' needs, offering a sliding scale as well as weekend and evening hours as necessary. Please do not hesitate to ask me any questions you may have. I'm willing to assess and accommodate your needs to the best of my ability.
Part of what I believe makes counseling effective is the counselor's genuineness, empathy, and unconditional positive regard throughout the entire therapeutic process. I also believe that many of our thoughts affect our feelings and in turn affect our behaviors. The awareness that counseling brings to a client is a big part of the healing process. I would love to walk beside you as you discover what has been holding you back from achieving a healthier perspective, and as you work towards making the changes necessary to achieve your maximum potential. It is never too late, and you are never too old. Counseling can be effective for any person and for any need. Give yourself or a family member the gift of counseling today. It can change your life.
